Singing with Mr. Bobby McFerrin

At this year’s Aarhus Vocal Festival Voxnorth had the great honor of performing with vocal improvisation guru Bobby McFerrin (U.S.). A truly magical experience!

The concert / masterclass took place in Musikhuset’s Symphonic Hall which was filled to the brim with vocal enthusiasts from around the world. Bobby (who became famous with “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”) invented the concept of Circlesongs, and with VoxNorth as his choir, he gave examples of how he improvises these songs in the moment. Bobby’s talk of his experience with a.o. presence in the music and about daring to loose the fear of singing ”wrong” when you improvise, was a great inspiration too.
